Planning A Romantic Anniversary Getaway

Well, another year has rolled around and it is your anniversary. It may be the anniversary of your first date or your six month mark, though traditionally an anniversary is associated with one more year of marital bliss. So what do you plan on doing to commemorate this special day in your lives? Perhaps a romantic anniversary getaway is just what you and your special someone need to renew that feeling of love and harmony that first brought the two of you together.

Getting away from the tedious day-to-day activities of life can be incentive enough. Marriage is not a proverbial rose garden, filled with glamorous times of sunshine and birds singing. It involves two people working together in order to create a happy home. Add kids to the mix and suddenly your days are filled with school activities, homework, housework and laundry. Sometimes those romantic vacation spots seem as far away and as impossible as recreating the Great Wall of China with toothpicks in quicksand!

An anniversary getaway romantic and peaceful, is always a happy present to receive and since you will be the one accompanying your spouse, you win as well. If you, like most newlyweds, had to skimp on your honeymoon, and as a result had a very inexpensive honeymoon, you may want to consider splurging and having a second one that you always wanted. Why not take a romantic cruise or travel to a city that neither of you have ever been to before? It can be an adventure to revitalize your spirits and once home, you can regale friends and family with tales of your second getaway romantic anniversary honeymoon.

If you and your loved one have been together for several years and you have decided to go on a romantic anniversary getaway, then you can add another level of romance by renewing your wedding vows. Many resorts and inns offer romantic getaway packages that include the use of the chapel, a small cake and even a champagne toast. Some may even include a horse-drawn carriage ride to and from the church or chapel.

There are many ways to spend a romantic anniversary getaway. You can recreate your very first date and talk about the things that you are both grateful for in each other. You can laugh at the good times and bad times but you may want to leave out how you spent your bachelor or bachelorette party. Some things are just better left in the dark. Remembering the past and looking forward to the future is the way to commemorate your anniversary.
